Name: Charley Daniels
Which DCSS class do you attend? Intermediate / Advanced
Position you like to play? Left wing or forward
What got you into soccer? One day about five years ago I just woke up and decided I wanted to try soccer. I was 31 years old and had basically no experience, but I had some co-workers who were starting a team, so I signed up. It's been a long road, I'm not gonna lie, but I can't imagine not playing now. I actually wrote about that initial experience for Cracked a few years ago: http://www.cracked.com/blog/5-things-i-learned-from-taking-up-soccer-as-adult/
What you like most about soccer? It rewards precision, pace, patience, and teamwork. If I was more creative I would have come up with a word that means "teamwork" but also starts with a P.
Whats the most important thing you've learned through DCSS classes, or your favorite drill or class memory? Honestly, every session I learn something new or get better at something I needed to work on. To pick one example: The fundamental ball-handling drills have improved my game by leaps and bounds. I think the biggest game-changer overall is the extra touches every week give me so much more confidence in games, which is priceless.
